Apple declared that they have introduced new MacBook Air models that feature 13-inch and 15-inch screen sizes powered by its M3 chip. The price of the 13-inch variant initiates from $1099, which is notably $100 less than the M2 Air model. On the other hand, the price of the 15-inch variant initiates at $1299. Customers in the U.S. can now start placing their pre-orders and the devices will be widely available from March 8.

In the previous year, Apple launched the M2 MacBook Air and expanded their portfolio by adding the 15-inch variant.

Some notable features of both MacBook Air models include a battery life of up to 18 hours, the inclusion of a 1080p webcam, and enhanced Wi-Fi 6E radios. Each device is equipped with two Thunderbolt ports along with a 3.5mm headphone jack. They also support two external displays but only when the lid is closed. The M3 chip integrated in these models, first distributed in 2021, includes an 8-core CPU paired with an up to 10-core GPU. To ensure improved voice clarity during calls, the new MacBook Air devices are furnished with a three-mic array.

According to Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, “The MacBook Air is our most sought-after and admired Mac, with it being the preferred option over any other laptop. Today, with the integration of the M3 chip and new capabilities, it becomes even more attractive.”

Both models are offered in midnight, starlight, silver, and space gray color variations.

Simultaneously with the unveiling of the new MacBook Airs, Apple was penalized by the European Union with a fine of about $2 billion for infringing antitrust regulations in the music streaming market.
