According to Financial Times, Apple Music now has 10 million paying subscribers. The service was launched in June 2015 with a free trial and it took only 6 months to reach this mark. CEO Tim Cook reported in October that had 15 million users out of which 6.5 million were paying users.
It took Spotify, the service main rival, to reach this milestone, though the company stated in June 2015 that it had 20 million paying subscribers.
Other services, like Deezer and Jay-Z’s Tidal, lag far behind, with around 6.3 million and 1 million paying users respectively.
Apple Music offers unlimited access to more than 30 million songs as well as curated Beats 1 radio station for $9.99 a month ($14.99 for a family plan).
