APC’s fundraising platform violated rules and regulations – NCC

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has defended its decision to shutdown the platform launched by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to raise funds for its presidential candidate General Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking to newsmen, Eugene Juwah, NCC’s executive vice chairman said the commission is a public service agency and is not political.

He said while the commission does not oppose individuals and organizations raising funds, they must do in accordance with NCC’s directives.

“You are allowed to raise money, but you must conform to the rules of NCC. We didn’t make these rules looking at elections. We made these rules for the interest of development of telecommunications in Nigeria and we would keep those rules whether there are elections or not.” he said.
