Google has released a new feature on its Maps app for Android which allows one to add multiple waypoints to a destination for easier navigation. Tapping the options button reveals an ‘Add stop’ function which allows for additional stops and route is chosen for driving, walking or public transit directions. To rearrange the order of your stops, tap and hold the three dot menu to the left of “Add stop” and drag it to the position you want – you can even search for types of places like gas stations or restaurants like you normally would. This is particularly useful when you are not familiar with the city. Previously available on the web as an app, it is now available on the move.
Google Maps is a desktop web mapping service developed by Google. It offers satellite imagery, street maps, 360° panoramic views of streets (Street View), real-time traffic conditions (Google Traffic), and route planning for traveling by foot, car, or public transportation. Google Maps offers an API that allows maps to be embedded on third-party websites, and offers a locator for urban businesses and other organizations in numerous countries around the world.
This new feature has already been incorporated in the existing app so you dont need an update to have it. However, the rollout is gradual and you might not be able to see the feature now. In a blog post by Liz Davidoff, the Communications Manager of Google Maps , He said there will be a release on iOS soonest.
