Androids latest update, Android Nougat or Android 7.0, has finally been released. After many developer beta previews, Android users now can now experience what the latest version of Android has to offer but we all know this update is only available to Nexus devices as of this moment.
So let’s talk about whats new on Nougat? First, Android 7.0 comes with a redesigned user interface thats better suited for productivity, multi-windows, ability to switch between apps for better multitasking, efficient use of space and useful descriptions in the settings, vulkan API support for better graphics in gaming, Daydream VR, a refined Doze, smarter notifications and direct replies, custom quick settings, DPI tuner, data saver, better security, new emoji, and much more.
Nexus users will either wait for the OTA update to hit their devices, or flash the factory image onto your phone without delay right after downloading it from Googles servers. And if you aren’t using a Nexus device, you arent getting this update anytime soon, best case in months or could take a year, that could depend on your location and device model.
Remember to do a backup before updating for best results, and if intend to wipe your device for a fresh install, backing up is a wise move for best results. The following devices will support Android 7.0 Nougat when released: Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and Android One devices.
