If you own a Nexus device and wondered when the Android Lollipop 5.0 update will be released, you’ll be excited to know that Google’s latest Android release is rolling out to Nexus devices today.
The Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (both models), and Nexus 10 will all start receiving Lollipop 5.0 OTA (over-the-air).
Android 5.0 Lollipop comes with new features and changes, but the biggest change is the new look and feel it offers, which is what Google calls Material Design. The new design adds fresh animations and a flatter look to Android, so far this is the most important and biggest update to the world’s most-used mobile OS in several years. Though it’s strange since the Android update schedule has been a bit of a surprise this year, as Google’s Nexus devices, which are typically the first to update, were beaten by Motorola and LG but it’s good to see this update roll out just days after it’s been on other Smartphones.
For those who don’t want to wait for the OTA to get to their devices, you can simply download factory images straight from Google’s Nexus site but I’ll advice you follow a tutorial on how to get the Update on your device, that’s if you’re not a pro… Or you could just wait till the OTA is available.
