Amazon Adds Flexible Delivery Time Slots in South Africa

Amazon South Africa has introduced a new feature called Multiple-Delivery Windows, allowing customers to choose exactly when their orders are delivered. The service, now available in Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Cape Town, is designed to offer shoppers more control and predictability in their online shopping experience — a key step in improving convenience for South African consumers.

With this feature, customers can schedule their deliveries up to one day in advance and select from three flexible time slots: morning (08:00–13:00), afternoon (13:00–18:00), or evening (17:00–20:00). By offering specific time windows, Amazon aims to address one of the biggest frustrations in e-commerce — uncertainty around delivery times.

The new system is available for customers within postal codes eligible for Amazon’s same-day delivery service, and the selection process has been streamlined directly into the checkout page. Importantly, the feature maintains Amazon’s existing pricing structure, with each delivery slot priced at just R2 and no minimum order requirement.

Through this rollout, Amazon reinforces its commitment to enhancing customer experience and reliability in South Africa’s fast-growing e-commerce market. By giving shoppers greater flexibility and control, Amazon continues to position itself as a customer-centric leader in last-mile delivery innovation.
