    Euro 2016 has come and gone. Portugal proved football pundits wrong as they won the championship. As a result of their hard-earned victory, they got the world talking particularly on twitter. Twitter was up to the task as it tracked fans Euro 2016 conversions and recently shared some amazing stats related to the tourney. Here are some of the interesting stats.

    1. The month-long tourney attracted more than 109 million #Euro2016 related tweets.
    2. Over 14.2 million tweets were sent on the night when Portugal defeated France to become #Euro2016 champions.
    3. Christiano Ronaldo was the most tweeted about player during the final despite suffering a knee injury and being replaced in just the 24th minute of the first half.
    4. The five most tweeted players were: Christiano Ronaldo, Antoine Griemann, Dmitri Payet, Gareth Bale, and Olivier Giroud.
    5. The top most-tweeted about teams during #Euro2016: Portugal, France, Germany, Wales, and England.

         6. And the Twitter #Euro2016 team: Gianluigi Buffon, Eric Dier, Leonardo Bonucci, Sergio Ramos, Patrice Evra,          Mesut Ozil, Renato Sanches, Paul Pogba, Dimitri Payet, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Antoine Griezmann.
