Mobile phone brands like Apple’s iPhone, Samsung and TECNO represents the crème de la crème of flagship smartphones in Africa. But, which of these smartphone brands hold the crown in the camera department. The TECNO Camon series have been the game-changer in the world of mobile photography and the CX is continuing that trend.
We compared the new TECNO CAMON CX and the new iPhone 7 cameras (which is one of the most-hyped features on the iPhone 7) and the new CX made the iPhone look like a learner in the camera department. This could come out as a surprise for some people because Apple’s iPhone-camera team is known for making good shooters.
However, before the launch of the TECNO CAMON series, no company has been able to unseat the iPhone from the smartphone camera throne. After the release of this CX device, we expect Apple to come back with a strong opposition this year but for now, I think the TECNO CX deserves all the accolades it has enjoyed so far.
Camera Compared: CAMON CX vs iPhone 7
The new TECNO CAMON CX spots several upgrades over its predecessors, but none are as exciting as the front camera, which is easily TECNO’s best camera to date. Positioned on the rear and front of the CX are two 16MP cameras with dual front LED flashes.
Both lens and flashes work in unison to give photo lovers the best bright and smooth images they would desire. That’s not something that is commonly seen on smartphones these days.
As you’d expect, the 16-megapixel self-timer lens is beautifully constructed to enhance the sensitivity and tolerance of the camera to light, making the skin in the pictures smoother and brighter.
On the other hand, the iPhone 7 flaunts a 12MP primary and 7MP secondary camera, which isn’t different from its predecessor and not up to the new Camon CX. So, you’d expect the CX to lead in the best of photography platform.
Camera with the best Skin Brightening Technology
The headline feature of the new CX is undoubtedly the dual 16MP camera set-up.
And, with this simple detail, the front (secondary) camera on the CX takes better images than not just the iPhone 7 rear (primary) camera but a lot of other smartphone cameras.
Many tech pundits believe that the amazing skin brightening feature that the new CX flaunts, could be as a result of the dual LED front flash that comes with the device, so, after my personal experience with the device camera, I think that statement is 60% correct.
But, that’s just one of the pleasing things the device camera flaunts. Other unconventional features such as the new Noise Reduction Algorithm, Finger Print Self-Timer, brightening filter, Four Image Synthesis technology etc., all combine to make this smartphone worth the hype.
This rare features may seem simple, but isn’t so simple to execute as most of us may assume. It requires an unbelievable amount of engineering behind- the- scenes. So, I guess a big WELL DONE are in order for TECNO.
Let’s check out some images taken with the new Camon CX and iPhone 7. I would allow you be the judge :
