In March 2022, alGROWithm made headlines with the announcement of its groundbreaking initiative, the creation of Africa’s inaugural Growth Talent Accelerator Program (GTAP). Now, in a pivotal move, the organization is set to redefine the landscape of talent development in the African tech startup ecosystem, thanks to a game-changing funding injection from Digital Africa.
This funding not only marks a significant milestone for alGROWithm but also heralds exciting prospects for the African tech startup ecosystem. The investment unlocks talent-driven pathways to drive sustainable growth, positioning alGROWithm at the forefront of transformative initiatives. In the year ahead, alGROWithm plans to leverage the funding in two strategic ways: by offering scholarships to aspiring Growth Hackers, facilitating their participation in the GTAP programs, and by expanding the reach of its training initiatives into previously untapped African markets.
GTAP, now firmly established as a flagship feature of alGROWithm Academy’s EdTech offerings, extends its reach beyond Nigeria and Ghana, welcoming applicants from Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and South Africa. The application window for the next cohort is scheduled to close in February, promising another cohort of aspiring Growth Hackers the opportunity to embark on a transformative journey.

Founder & Chief Growth Officer, Bili Sule, sheds light on the rationale behind alGROWithm’s strategic approach. “Since our pilot in 2022, we’ve identified two critical needs in the ecosystem. There’s a persistent demand for more Growth Hacking talent, demonstrated by the swift employment of our past trainees. Secondly, we observed that many companies also sought to up-skill their existing teams instead of starting from scratch with new talent.”
The response to these insights resulted in the introduction of two dynamic program flavors: GTAP Lite and GTAP Pro. GTAP Lite represents the 100% online version tailored for individual Growth enthusiasts, offering flexibility and accessibility. On the other hand, GTAP Pro addresses the needs of companies, empowering them to transform their internal teams into adept Growth Engineers. GTAP Pro follows a hybrid delivery structure, combining in-person Growth Hacking bootcamps with online lectures and workshops.
Bili Sule emphasizes the success of the Pro model, having collaborated with companies like Paga, Figorr, and Kebble in the past year. The positive outcomes from these engagements fueled the decision to offer both propositions moving forward. In the coming year, alGROWithm aims to train over 150 Growth Leads across East, West, and Southern Africa, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to bridging the Growth talent gap and propelling African businesses to new heights.
For those aspiring to join the ranks of Africa’s elite Growth Engineers, alGROWithm’s GTAP is not just a program; it’s a transformative journey that promises to reshape the narrative of talent development in the African tech landscape.
