Airtel Nigeria has partnered with UNICEF to launch Links2Work, a comprehensive youth empowerment programme under Generation Unlimited Nigeria (GenU 9JA). The initiative is designed to bridge the gap between education, skills development, and employment, helping young Nigerians navigate the evolving world of work and build sustainable careers.
Through the partnership, Airtel provides zero-rated access to critical digital learning platforms, including the Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP) and YOMA, ensuring that young people can access educational content and skills training without data costs. The programme prioritizes digital literacy, green economy skills, and entrepreneurship, equipping participants with tools to thrive in Nigeria’s rapidly changing economic landscape.
The three-year Links2Work Programme specifically targets young women aged 18–24 in Nigeria and Kenya, offering mentorship, hands-on training, and paid work placements. By focusing on underrepresented groups, the initiative seeks to close gender gaps in access to opportunities and strengthen pathways to formal employment and entrepreneurship.
Airtel’s collaboration with UNICEF underscores its commitment to digital inclusion and youth empowerment, leveraging technology to create equitable access to education and economic opportunities. The programme aligns with broader efforts to support Nigeria’s youth in shaping their futures, contributing to a more inclusive, skilled, and productive workforce for the country.
