Airtel Nigeria, has partnered with an application developer, Yuzah, to enhance diesel delivery in Nigeria. Yuzah was one of the Startups who participated in the Airtel Catapult-a-Startup Competition recently. The app won the N1 million prize money in the competition due to its simplicity and creativity.

Yuzah (pronounced “user”) is a diesel delivery mobile app that allows users to request instant delivery of diesel to their homes or offices via their mobile phone.

The service, which is first-of-its-kind in Nigeria, is being rolled out in pilot areas in Lagos with plans to expand the services to other parts of the country before the end of the year.

Speaking on Yuzah, Chief Marketing Officer, Airtel Nigeria, Maurice Newa said the Telco would continue to provide innovative solutions that enhance the everyday lives of Nigerians and delivering products and services that offer convenience.

“This innovative service was achieved through the robust partnership between Airtel and Yuzah. And we believe it has come to offer convenience to subscribers In Nigeria,” he noted

Also commenting about the partnership, a Wharton MBA-trained Nigerian and CEO of Yuzah.com, Ovo Emorhokpor said: “We are extremely happy and excited about this partnership with Airtel. Yuzah was birthed out of several pain points my friends, associates and I have had when buying diesel. We believe the service will be extremely useful to the larger population who use the product, and initial customer response has been encouraging. Airtel Nigeria continues to show its growing support for entrepreneurship and innovation in Nigeria, and we believe we will have a successful partnership.”

He also noted that Yuzah guarantees quality services as it performs tank assessment and quality check of its diesel in front of customers before delivery, thereby guaranteeing the delivered product.

The mobile app offers diesel buyers several advantages such as quick order and delivery of diesel. Users can also order diesel through the app, on www.yuzah.com . The product can be delivered within 30-60 minutes once accepted by a Yuzah approved supplier.
