Airtel Money Now Lets Customers Pay for Showmax

Airtel Money has partnered with streaming service Showmax to allow customers to pay for subscriptions directly from their mobile wallets, removing the need for debit cards or third-party payment platforms.

With the integration, users can now subscribe to, renew, or activate any Showmax plan using Airtel Money. Supported packages include Showmax Entertainment, Showmax Entertainment Mobile, and Showmax Premier League Mobile, giving customers access to a wide range of local and international shows, movies, and live sports content.

The rollout is timed to coincide with the festive season, a period when demand for entertainment typically increases as families and friends gather. By enabling mobile wallet payments, Airtel Money and Showmax are making it easier for millions of users, particularly in Kenya, to access premium streaming content without friction.

To complete a subscription, customers simply visit the Showmax website, choose their preferred plan, select Airtel Money as the payment option, and confirm the transaction using their mobile number and Airtel Money PIN. The process is designed to be fast, secure, and user-friendly.

The partnership highlights the growing role of mobile money platforms in Africa’s digital economy. As more consumers rely on mobile wallets for everyday transactions, integrations like this are increasingly enabling access to digital services such as entertainment, education, and financial products.

By expanding payment options, Airtel Money continues to position itself as a key enabler of digital lifestyles, while Showmax strengthens its reach among mobile-first users across the region.
