Airtel Nigeria has been honored with the Best in Technology for Development award at the 2025 Sustainability, Enterprise, and Responsibility Awards (SERAS), held at the Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The recognition highlights the work of the Airtel Africa Foundation in expanding digital access and empowering young Nigerians with the skills needed to thrive in the digital economy. Through strategic partnerships and long-term community investments, the Foundation continues to deepen its footprint in digital education, youth empowerment, and inclusive technology.

One of its flagship contributions is the Foundation’s support for the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme. In partnership with the Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, Airtel has helped train 25,000 young Nigerians across 46 local government areas, providing them with in-demand digital skills in software development, product design, data analytics, and more.

Airtel has also strengthened digital learning across Nigeria through the Reimagine Education initiative in collaboration with UNICEF. To date, the project has connected 942,670 pupils in 1,268 public schools to digital learning tools, enabling young learners to access foundational and advanced educational content regardless of their location.

In higher education, the Foundation continues to boost access through university scholarship programmes currently benefiting 100 students in institutions across the country. These initiatives are complemented by several community-based projects aimed at expanding digital access, improving educational outcomes, and supporting underserved populations.

The award reaffirms Airtel’s commitment to using technology as a platform for empowerment and inclusive growth. By investing in skills development, digital infrastructure, and educational innovation, Airtel aims to equip millions of young people with the knowledge and opportunities needed to participate fully in Nigeria’s rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.
