Airtel Africa Foundation has announced an ambitious pledge to positively impact 10 million lives across the continent by 2030 through its flagship FEED program, which focuses on Future Employment, Education, and Digital empowerment. The initiative underscores the foundation’s commitment to driving social and economic transformation beyond its role as a telecommunications provider.
The FEED framework is designed to address Africa’s most pressing challenges by creating pathways for youth employment, supporting education with digital tools, and promoting digital inclusion for underserved communities. Airtel Africa Foundation believes that by tackling these three areas, it can help reduce unemployment, close the education gap, and ensure wider participation in the digital economy.
According to the foundation, the initiatives are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and draw strength from Airtel’s extensive infrastructure and regional presence. This allows the company to deliver impact at scale, from digital literacy programs in rural schools to entrepreneurship training and support for small businesses.
Speaking on the commitment, the foundation explained that the FEED program is built on the principle of empowerment and inclusion. “Our goal is to create opportunities, unlock potential, and build a more inclusive digital future across Africa,” a representative said.
Since its launch, the foundation has already piloted projects across several countries, providing connectivity to schools, training teachers, and equipping young people with entrepreneurial and digital skills. By scaling these efforts, Airtel Africa hopes to ensure that millions of people benefit from the continent’s digital transformation.
The pledge reflects the growing role of corporate responsibility in Africa’s innovation landscape and highlights how partnerships between technology, education, and communities can shape a more sustainable future.
