The AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge is inviting applications from purpose-driven scientists and entrepreneurs who are developing agri-tech solutions. These solutions aim to create a more sustainable, efficient, and climate-resilient agricultural system in Egypt. The challenge is particularly targeted towards early-stage agri-tech ventures in Egypt that have a minimum viable product (MVP) or a proof of concept (POC).
The goal of the AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge is to support and equip these ventures with the necessary tools and validation to build a strong market entry strategy. Innovations in priority areas such as digital agriculture, precision farming, agri-finance solutions, sustainable value chain development, capacity building tools, and efficient irrigation water management are being sought.
Those chosen will receive comprehensive assistance to realize the foundations of a scalable agri-tech venture in Egypt. Benefits include a fully funded four-day immersive bootcamp, networking opportunities with partners and agribusinesses, expert guidance from CGIAR scientists and industry professionals, and a sponsored six-month acceleration programme.
The selected ventures will also have the opportunity to test and validate their solution in an actual setup with end-users for up-to six months and they will receive up to EGP300,000 (US$6,500) as an equity-free grant courtesy of ASRT. Additionally, they will gain exposure to potential investors and market opportunities.
The deadline for applications is April 21. The acceleration programme will occur between June and October, and a demo day is scheduled for November. Applications can be submitted here.
