After trying the Apple Vision Pro, Mark Zuckerberg says Quest 3 is the better product

Mark Zuckerberg, founder, chairman and CEO of Meta, believes that his company’s virtual reality product, the Meta Quest 3 is better than the Apple Vision Pro. He revealed this in an Instagram video filmed with the Quest 3 VR headset after testing the Vision Pro.

According to him, “we tried Apple’s vision pro and you know I have to say that before this I expected that quest would be the better value for most people since it’s really good and it’s like 7 times less expensive but after using it, I don’t just think that quest is the better value, I think the quest is the better product.”

Zuckerberg said he was impressed with some of its features, such as its high-resolution display. He did, however, say that the Quest 3 was more comfortable, had a larger field of view, and was better suited to a range of pursuits, including gaming, socializing, and working out.

“I think it’s just a lot more comfortable you know; we designed it to weigh 120 grams less, makes a really big difference on your face. There are no wires that get in the way when you move around it’s a big deal. Or field of view is wider and I found our screen to be brighter also.”

He said he prefers the Quest’s choice of physical hand controllers and hand tracking for input, but he admits that eye tracking is useful in some situations and teases that it will return to future Meta headsets after debuting with the Quest Pro. He claims that the Quest has a better “immersive” content collection than Apple, which is technically correct for the time being, while he acknowledges that the Vision Pro is a superior entertainment device. And there’s the fact that the Quest 3 is, as Zuck puts it, “like seven times less expensive.”

Meta Quest 3 vs. Apple Vision Pro – Which headset should be your portal to the future?

He ends the video by thanking “everyone who’s been building with us for more than a decade.” He acknowledges that the future is not written and “as the old saying goes the best way to predict the future is to invent it so I’ll see you all out there.”

It is important to note that Zuckerberg is the CEO of Meta, which makes the Quest 3, so his comments may be biased. However, his comments are still likely to have a significant impact on the VR market. The Quest 3 is expected to be even more popular than the Quest 2, which sold over 18 million units.

The VR market is growing rapidly, and it is becoming increasingly competitive. Apple’s entry into the market with the Vision Pro is a sign of how much potential there is in VR. However, it remains to be seen whether Apple can compete with Meta, which has a significant head start in the market.

Only time will tell which VR headset will be the most popular, but Zuckerberg’s comments suggest that the Quest 3 is a strong contender.
