AfriLabs, in collaboration with Intel Corporation and Prosper Africa, has initiated the Intel Community Reach Programme, a project designed to tackle pressing social issues in underprivileged African communities through the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) and enhanced broadband connectivity.

The program is dedicated to fostering community empowerment and instigating transformative progress across vital sectors, including education, healthcare, agriculture, environmental services, financial technology (fintech), and the development of digital competencies.

The Intel Community Reach Programme is concentrated on a variety of critical objectives: it aims to broaden access to high-quality education, with an emphasis on STEM disciplines, to nurture the next generation of innovators; to elevate the standard and reach of healthcare services to promote community health; to increase agricultural efficiency and sustainability to combat food insecurity; to develop and implement strategies to counteract environmental degradation and encourage ecological sustainability; to broaden financial inclusion through access to cutting-edge fintech solutions for marginalized groups; and to provide individuals with the essential digital skills required to succeed in today’s technology-driven world.

The call for applications is open to organizations, enterprises, startups, SMEs, and institutions that are actively working to address social challenges through the application of AI or broadband connectivity. Projects eligible for consideration must operate within the African Union member states and target vulnerable demographics in underserved regions. Chosen initiatives will benefit from technical assistance, consultancy, and financial backing provided by Intel, AfriLabs, and Prosper Africa, supporting the realization of their innovative concepts.

Applications are open here until June 7.
