International payment company Visa has noted that there is a shift, in Africa, from cash and cheques cashless payment solutions. This was the position of Business Development Leader, Visa West Africa, Mr. Emezino Afiegbe while speaking at an event in Lagos.

He identified the need for financial institutions to ensure security of transactions to gain public thrust in boosting Nigeria’s ecommerce ecosystem.

According to him, securing transactions on VisaNet cannot be compromised with $7.4 trillion cash and payments through the platform on only Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in 2014 alone.
