Startups from Kenya and Nigeria have been selected for the sixth edition of the CV Labs accelerator, gaining access to US$135,000 in capital, connections to other funding avenues, personalized mentorship, and customized growth strategies.
CV Labs is the ecosystem division of CV VC, a global blockchain investor based in Switzerland. With locations in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, South Africa, Germany, and Portugal, CV Labs supports a global ecosystem through a variety of activities, including accelerator programs, community-focused co-working spaces, industry events and summits, and advisory and research reports.
The sixth batch of the accelerator program has been chosen, comprising eight firms working across standard industries and web3 infrastructure. The CV Labs accelerator is not tied to any specific blockchain, and startups receive expert advice from 10 leading protocols. In addition to US$135,000 in capital, they will also gain access to other funding channels, dedicated mentorship, and tailored growth strategies.
Two of the firms chosen are African; Shamba Records from Kenya, which provides a real-time data collection tool to boost credit access for farmers and a farmer’s wallet for easy credit processing and payments; and Nigeria’s Jamit, a decentralized podcast hosting platform which offers cloud storage, global reach, engagement incentives, and unique NFT experiences for creators and listeners.
Startups from the United States, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Poland, and Germany were also selected for the program.
Bastian Wetzel, the head of acceleration at CV VC AG, emphasized that the accelerator program gives an optimal environment for growth. Startups are provided access to an extensive network of leading mentors and investors as well as exclusive support tailored to each startup, with help ranging from entity structuring to product roadmap construction.
