Merck has opened the application for the fourth edition of its digital health accelerator program in Kenya.
The digital health accelerator is predicated on supporting new African health startups in the field of digital health. The accelerator will run for three months.
Commenting, Michael Gamber, Head of the Merck Innovation Center said: “When we asked for feedback from our current and previous participants, they wanted flexible access to resources outside of the programme of seminars, workshops and expert mentoring we have in place.
“To provide this, we have set up the Virtual Innovator Academy as a constantly accessible resource hub for all of our Accelerator participants. They also wanted more support in general business and team management, so we have expanded our core training programme accordingly.”
According to reports, four startups will be selected from the pool of applications from across Africa. They will get an office space at Mettā in Nairobi, as well as mentoring and coaching from digital health experts. In addition, they will receive a reward of up to $30,000.
Interested digital health startups should apply on or before June 26, 2017. The program will start on September 4, 2017, and end on December 15, 2017.
