Have you seen this new trailer “African Booty Scratcher” uploaded on YouTube by Damilare Sonoiki? It is about a Nigerian immigrant family in America struggling to balance giving their son a better life with ensuring he maintains their traditional values.
The comedy series was written, created and directed by Nigerian-American Damilare Sonoiki, one of the writers of the popular american sitcom, Black-ish.
Now the producers of this comedy series need your help with The African Booty scratcher project! They are on and they need $30,000 as seed money to help produce additional content and raise the awareness to get this show on a major network.
According to the producers, “Our first priority is to create a hilarious show, but we also want to help viewers look beyond traditional stereotypes and show that the African immigrant story is universally relatable.”
“Finally, we put a lot of thought into the title of the teaser, ‘African Booty Scratcher.’ Nearly every immigrant from the continent can relate to being called that name, and we are excited to take something negative and use it in a positive way.”
