Adobe is set to revolutionise digital art generation as it integrates its recently launched Adobe Firefly and Adobe Express tools with Google’s Bard conversational AI service. Adobe Firefly, a collection of AI models designed for creating media content, has witnessed impressive uptake since its beta launch in March, with more than 70 million images generated in the first month alone. Now, with the integration into Google Bard, millions of users will have access to Firefly’s innovative text-to-image capabilities, alongside Adobe Express’s editing tools.
The partnership between Adobe and Google aims to streamline the creative process for users of all skill levels. Creators will be able to request Firefly-generated images within Google Bard by simply describing their vision in their own words. Once the image is generated, users can take advantage of Adobe Express’s templates, fonts, stock images, and other assets to further modify and enhance their creations.
For example, a user looking to promote a new yoga studio could ask Bard to generate an image of a “giraffe doing a yoga pose”. They could then refine this image using Adobe Express’s extensive library of editing tools and templates, before sharing the finished product on social media directly from the platform.
Adobe Firefly sets itself apart from other generative AI tools through its commitment to commercial safety. The AI model is trained using hundreds of millions of professional-grade, licensed images from Adobe Stock, as well as openly licensed and public domain content. This ensures that Firefly-generated images are free from copyrighted materials, giving creators the confidence to use them in commercial settings once the public beta concludes.
To maintain transparency and authenticity, Adobe is utilising its Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI) open-source technology. This allows creators to tell their stories genuinely whilst providing an avenue for content consumers to verify the origins and modifications of the content. Assets created with Firefly, including those generated via Bard, will have CAI-powered Content Credentials attached, acting as digital “nutrition labels” for the content.
The collaboration between Adobe and Google demonstrates a commitment to empowering creators and providing a user-friendly experience. The integration of Adobe Firefly and Adobe Express with Google Bard is expected to roll out in the coming weeks, with more exciting features and updates on the horizon.
By combining the power of Adobe Firefly and Adobe Express with Google Bard’s experimental conversational AI service, Adobe is set to inspire millions of creators worldwide, enabling them to bring their visions to life with ease, authenticity, and commercial safety.
