Adieu American Idol!

After 15 seasons with 15 winners, Fox singing competition, the American Idol has come to an end.

It was an emotional and colourful grand finale spiced with specular performances by past winners, reunion of previous and present judges and a goodwill video message from President Barack Obama as well.

In the 15 seasons of these acclaimed reality TV show, it had seven billion votes, 1 million auditions, 13 Grammy wins, and 54 nominations, and 15 winners.

The award-winning show’s popularity has significantly declined over the years as Coca-cola pulled its sponsorship while Ford motor company downgraded their roles. The show which debuted on June 1, 2002, has been replicated in other parts of the world like the Nigerian Idol.
