Addiction to all sorts of tech things is widely frequent today. From social media to phones and online games, we are so attached to them. Unsurprisingly, many people now report to hospitals seeking help for these addictions.

In China, parents and teachers have expressed worries that children were becoming addicted to the online games especially Honor of Kings. This game has more than 200 million users. Thus, making it the world’s most popular game of its kind.

As a response to these concerns, Tencent Holdings Ltd, said henceforth, it would limit play time for some young players of the game.

According to Tencent, users below 12 years of age will be limited to one hour of play time each day, while those aged between 12 years and 18 years will be limited to two hours a day.

China’s biggest gaming and social media firm added that it also plans to ban users under 12 years from logging in after 9 PM in China and will limit how much money younger users spend on the game.

Tencent said on its WeChat account said: “There are no rules to prevent indulgence in online games in China, but we decided to be the first to try to dispel parental worries by limiting play time and forcing children to log off.”
