Innovative early-stage founders looking to solve some of the continent’s biggest challenges are being invited to apply for the second edition of Accelerate Africa. This programme, designed to equip startups with the right strategies and make them investment-ready, is a joint initiative of Future Africa and Prosper Africa, led by operator VCs Iyinoluwa Aboyeji and Mia von Koschitzky-Kimani.
Collectively, these leaders have an impressive track record of building, funding and advising numerous African startups, including Andela, Flutterwave, Moove, Daystar Power, and DukaConnect amongst others on how to build global businesses from Africa by solving our continent’s biggest challenges.
Many of those businesses have grown to become billion dollar companies with hundreds of millions of dollars in revenues, or been acquired by global businesses like Mastercard and Shell.
Accelerate Africa is aimed at “bold and visionary” founders striving to tackle Africa’s significant challenges. Over eight weeks, the programme will fast-track their progress, culminating in a demo day where they can secure seed capital from some of Africa’s top investors.
Ideal applicants are founders with first-hand experience in dealing with the challenges that their businesses aim to resolve. These challenges should have the potential to evolve into global businesses. Interested founders can apply here.
