Nokia Life has its origin in the high growth economies, built ground up for the emerging markets, from the emerging markets. It was first launched in India in July 2009 as ‘Nokia Life Tools’ and soon expanded in to China, Indonesia and Nigeria.
Designed to address information gaps, Nokia Life is the first and the largest mobile based life improvement information services suite in the emerging markets delivering personalised and hyper-local information daily on topics of relevance across Education, Health, Agriculture and Entertainment.
In Agriculture, it helps to plan ahead, be more productive and make the most of the market with the weather forecast information, agriculture tips & techniques and regular updates of local market prices of
seeds, fertilisers and pesticides.
In Education, it helps to improve your general knowledge and English through educational services delivered directly to mobile devices in your own language to boost your confidence. It provides simple English and general knowledge courses in local languages, as well as study modules in a variety of state and ICSE board topics, including history, geography, biology, physics and chemistry.
In Healthcare, you improve your health and get to know more about motherhood and childcare, health & fitness and diseases. The service was enhanced with a new look and feel, new services, several new social features and renamed ‘Nokia Life’ at the Mobile World Congress in February 2012. In September 2012, Nokia Life+ was launched to meet the information needs of consumers upgrading to mobile data.
In Nigeria, Nokia Life Tools is available on all Nokia feature mobile phones in English, Hausa and Pidgin. It works on Airtel, Glo, MTN and Etisalat. It was launched in November 2010 in Nigeria.
