I love new things, I really do. What is there not to be excited about in a pair of new shoes or the warmness of new clothings. Do not get me started about the smell of fresh leather seats in a new car and shiny dashboards with gadgets screaming at me to touch.
Peeling off the skin off new things is one of my favourite things in the world but nothing tops the excitement I get from getting to know more about the thing.
Imagine getting lost behind the new Occulus Go, discovering a world in your head all by yourself.
Ok , I have to stop here. This post isn’t really about things (it is actually about a thing). It is about the Samsung Note 8 . The Samsung Note 8 has been available for pre-order in Nigeria for about two months now. But it was launched this week in Nigeria
In a bid to jump on the train and also because I love new things, I got my hands on the Samsung Note 8(which was provided to us for review by Samsung Nigeria by the way).
You have probably seen a few videos of different tech geeks telling you all the things the Samsung Note 8 presents that should make you run to the store to pick one for yourself. We also have hooked you up with an unboxing video to get a glimpse at what to expect. To be honest, I am tempted to tell you how fast the processor is because of the large RAM or to discuss the O.S that runs on the phone which makes it awesome. But, I think I may fail to reach many people that are not so tech savvy but deserve to know how the phone works.
To start with, I have always been a proud member of the android team so you may perceive a bit of bias? but that isn’t the only reason I am excited about the Note 8. I truthfully think the phone is aesthetically superior to most and I have written five other reasons why I love it below:
Large Screen:
If your reason for falling in love with the Note Series was for the screen, you are about to sink deeper. The bezel less 6.3 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED Infinity Display on the Note 8 will have your eyes glued to the device. The one given to us for review is in Midnight Black colour and I must confess that the display is simply amazeballs.
Samsung achieved this without causing any discomfort to the handling by stretching the display over the sides and making it possible to enjoy features like the split screen and also more freedom in the use of the SPen.
The Ad for the Note 8 says Do Bigger Things, I say absolutely.
Cool Live Gifs:
If you are like me, you can have an entire conversation with your Bff using only emojis, Gifs and such other animated images. For the times when you cannot find an im
age that captures your emotions, Samsung Note 8 allows you to create your own Gif using the live message option. The images you draw using the SPen is received by the recipient as a Gif.
That is cool, right? Perhaps I should tempt you further.
Amazing Pictures
We all love the likes we get when we post great pictures of ourselves on the social media. The Note 8 with its dual 12MP camera not only makes it possible for you to take pictures with two lenses simultaneously but also allows you to use the depth of field effects. What this m
eans is that you get to take pic
tures like a pro.
The front facing camera also comes with pre-installed features that allows you have a lot of fun with filters like the ones on Instagram and Snap Chat. Even cooler is the hand wave gesture(which was a silent feature in earlier models) that is all you need to do for your selfie and wefie to be taken without the rigors of pressing a button or missing a cute angle.
Bixby
One of the coolest features of Iphones is Siri. It feels good to see Samsung get up to speed with the introduction of Bixby which was also a big part of the S8. The Bixby is easily accessible from the home page and it is also a very great companion. We all agree that AI is the future and it is such great news to know that the Bixby has been made available in over 200 countries.
SPen Can do More:
The functions of the SPen has been expanded. Once popped out, you can easily access a number of features like the quick translator which allows text to be easily translated by hovering the SPen over the text, among other features.
There is also provision for more apps to be added to the quick features.
I am still discovering many more ways I can use the Note 8, you can trust I will let you know as I stumble on more new features.
