    Internet of Things (IoT) is an interesting way of performing different tasks with your device. Until now, you can only use your phone to make calls and send text messages. But today, it is possible to connect it to the internet to post Facebook messages, send tweets, play games, take pictures and much more. In addition, gadgets can communicate with other devices via Bluetooth and exchange data within seconds.

    IoT is the network of physical objects—devices, vehicles, buildings and other items—embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity that enables these objects to collect and exchange data according to Wikipedia.  There are amazing IoT in the tech world that you may be unfamiliar with.     Sleep is a big deal for some people. Most people do not get enough sleep because of their loaded schedule. It becomes imperative to have a device that can track how well you slept. Doctors recommend at least seven hours of sleep for everyone but many do not get 7 hours. The Samsung SleepSense gadget will give you a breakdown of how you slept. You place the device under your bed and it monitors your sleeping trend. It can detect vibrations, measure heart rate, breathing and body movements. Your sleep information can be sent from the device to your smartphone via Bluetooth.

    To save energy, it should be a habit to turn off the light. However, if you return from work late and no one is home, it can be an uphill task to switch on the light. This is because you will grope in the dark in search of your key. If you are not careful you might miss your step. You can now simply tap an app on your smartphone to switch on the lights. There are light bulbs that you can control with your smartphone. These are smart lightbulbs! You can turn light bulbs on and off as well as dim it if the bulb is too bright. For iPhone users, they can use Siri to command their phone to turn on the lights! There are also now WiFi enabled light switch.

    Cook without being present

    With your smartphone, you can cook a meal to perfection without being present. Besides, you can remotely monitor what you are cooking at home. You stick the KitchBot device which has a Bluetooth connected thermometer into the pot. When your food is ready, the KitchBot device will send you an alert.

    Smart fridge! If you have a smart bridge at home, you do not need to worry about when your perishable foods or other food items are exhausted. Your smart refrigerator will notify you which item needs to be restocked and when it will expire. Some smart refrigerators have cameras that can help you check the items in it. This will help you determine what to buy while shopping.
