    4 Ways Technology Has Changed the Way the Olympic Games is Broadcast

    All eyes will be on Rio De Janeiro as the 2016 Olympics officially starts tomorrow 5th August 2016. Countries including Nigeria will be vying to make their countries proud by winning medals while enthusiastic fans explore various ways to watch the world biggest tourney.

    Interestingly, watching various sports during the Olympics has been hugely influenced by technology. In fact, you do not need to watch any event. Innovation Village, shares 4 exciting ways technology has changed the way sports is watched. You can only imagine how things have changed since the days of the ancient Greek Olympics.

    Virtual Reality (VR)

    NBC and BBC are among the international media organizations that advantage Virtual Reality to broadcast the Olympics. The Olympic Broadcasting Services will film Virtual Reality footages from various daily and this footage will make it available to VR users. NBC will make more than 100 hours of VR footage available to Samsung Gear VR users while the BBC will do this via a special application. You can watch this using any VR devices.

    Drone Camera

    Drone cameras offer are now trendy today. They are now a perfect technology gadget for taking perfect and spectacular aerial view of sports events. Now, broadcasters are experimenting with hovering cameras. With there will be nothing like scrambling or distorted view.

    Ultra High Definition

    Watching the Olympics has gone beyond High Definition. It will now broadcast in Ultra High Definition and it will cover athletics, swimming, judo and men’s football. The unique thing about the ultra high definition is that it is four times the pixels of high definition. But you wouldn’t be able to watch the events live because of processing time.

    Online streaming

     In this present tech world with more people online, only a handful of international events are not streamed online. The  Olympics will definitely be  streamed online.
