3.0 Verse, a prominent Web 3 company headquartered in India, has officially expanded its operations to Africa, marking its entry into the continent with a launch in Nigeria. The company simultaneously announced a strategic partnership with the Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria (SIBAN) during a ceremony held at the Landmark Events Centre in Lagos.
The Web 3 company aims to revolutionise the landscape of trading and investing in Africa through its expertise in blockchain technology. This initiative comes at a crucial time, with the Director of 3.0 Verse, Mayur Poddar, addressing concerns about the devaluation of the Nigerian Naira. Poddar emphasised the company’s commitment to providing education on blockchain technology, ensuring that anyone interested can learn how to navigate the digital era and earn a living from the blockchain.
Founded in 2021, 3.0 Verse positions itself as a multifaceted digital assets company, often referred to as the “Google of Web3.” With a mission to educate everyday users about digital assets, the company has amassed a user base of three million within just two and a half years of operation.
The technical base of 3.0 Verse is situated in India, with its administrative operations headquartered in the United Arab Emirates. The name ‘3.0 Verse’ derives from the concluding segments of two cutting-edge phenomena in the blockchain space: Web 3.0 and the metaverse.
Mayur Poddar, the Director of 3.0 Verse, highlighted the company’s commitment to educating individuals about the complexities of the digital world, crypto, and blockchain. The platform offers valuable information about global crypto developments, along with a trading section called “Verse,” which consolidates centralised and decentralised exchanges on a single dashboard.
Addressing the choice of Nigeria for the African launch, Poddar cited the potential in the country due to currency devaluation concerns and the presence of a tech-savvy population that views blockchain as the future of industry.
In a bid to further blockchain and crypto education in Nigeria, 3.0 Verse announced a partnership with SIBAN. Obinna Iwuno, the President of SIBAN, emphasised the importance of the collaboration for expanding the Web3 ecosystem in Nigeria. Iwuno expressed confidence that increased education could pave the way for enhanced regulations and infrastructure development in the digital assets space.
As part of its commitment to education, 3.0 Verse revealed its collaboration with the Police Commissioner of Lagos State to educate law enforcement about blockchain and cybercrime prevention. The company aims to guide the police through these intricacies in Nigeria, contributing to a safer digital environment.
