The coronavirus has claimed another event casualty as Google announced that this year’s Google Cloud Next would only have an online part. It has cancelled the physical part of the event.
Previously scheduled to take place from Mon, 6 Apr 2020 – Wed, 8 Apr 2020 at Moscone Center, San Francisco, California, United States, Google Cloud Next ’20: Digital Connect is a free, global, digital-first, multi-day event offering streamed keynotes, breakout sessions, interactive learning, and digital “ask an expert” sessions with Google teams.
According to Google on the change in format,
“The health and wellbeing of Google Cloud customers, partners, employees and the overall community is our top priority. Due to the growing concern around the coronavirus (COVID-19), and in alignment with the best practices laid out by the CDC, WHO and other relevant entities, Google Cloud has decided to reimagine Google Cloud Next ’20, which will still take place from April 6-8.
We are transforming the event into Google Cloud Next ’20: Digital Connect, a free, global, digital-first, multi-day event connecting our attendees to Next ’20 content and each other through streamed keynotes, breakout sessions, interactive learning and digital “ask an expert” sessions with Google teams.”
Google says the virtual event will be free and that it will automatically refund all tickets to this year’s conference
