Chase Lewis is back with a new creation that helps trapped fire victims stay alive longer. This football shaped pod contains goggles for better vision, a glow stick to make it visible in the murky depths of a burning building and a face mask that filters out particles in the air.
The Emergency Mask Pod was invented with a view to giving those trapped on higher floors more time for fire-fighters to reach them. The Pod was entered into Disney’s ‘Big Hero Six’ XPRIZE Challenge and got him a place among the six winners!
His invention took months in the research, planning and testing. Using the internet and talking to fire-fighters were all part of the process to the final product which also netted him a win from the XPRIZE Foundation.
This not-so-regular teenager made his debut on the world stage at the age of thirteen years old. He brought relief to refugees when he created a cart to help those fleeing tragic situations a means to move their children to camps.
Apparently Lewis is not only a geek, but one with a heart of gold too as he has shown with these two products. The seven year old that told his mother he wanted to make something real has only just started…
