After a ten-year hiatus, Big Brother Nigeria is set to return according to an announcement made by MultiChoice Nigeria. The company announced the show will be rebranded and promoted as Big Brother Naija. It said the show will air on dedicated event channels on DStv and GOtv in January 2017.
According to the Managing Director of MultiChoice Nigeria John Ugbe, the return of the show is one of the ways the company is enhancing the quality and variety of its programs. He added that the show has been well developed following the successes of past seasons of Big Brother Africa. In the first edition, twelve housemates vied for USD 100,000 prize money by performing various mental and physical tasks. At the end of a three-month stay in the house, Katung Aduwak was the winner.
The show produced other notable stars such as Africa Magic’s Tinsel actor Gideon Okeke, and TV personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
MultiChoice said auditions for Big Brother Naija will be held in Lagos on 26-27 November. Also, the show is sponsored by online retail store PayPorte.
