Kigali-based Westerwelle Startup Haus has accepted 10 Rwandan Startups to participate in its entrepreneurship program.
Startup Haus was launched in October of 2018 by the Westerwelle Foundation and Evonik, both of which are German-based. In partnership with the Make-IT in Africa initiative, it provides startups in Rwanda with access to infrastructure and training to help them grow their businesses.
The 10 were selected from a pool of 90 applicants and include:
- Hardware and robotics training initiative Creativity Lab
- Online groceries platform Pack & Pick
- Graphic design startup Gravity Studios
- FreshBox, which manufactures smart delivery boxes
- Events firm Kigali Artisans Market
- Reproductive health information platform Saye Company,
- Horticulture startup CCE Business Group
- Digital marketing platform YoBrand
- Agri-training firm Impact Route
- Irrigation equipment manufacturer Volta Irrigation.

Founders who had already developed and tested their Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and are gearing towards establishing sustainable businesses.
The selected 10 will receive a 6 month membership subscription at the space, as well as have access to workshops, networking events and mentoring sessions.
Earlier this year, Westerwelle Startup Haus – Kigali appointed Sangwa Rwabuhihi as its new General Manager.
