Google’s YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki has announced in a blog post 1 in 5 people around the world now watch YouTube adding that monthly users of the video streaming platform presently stands at 1.5 billion.
These users according to her watch more than an hour of mobile videos per day as it expands its video programming to sell more digital ads.
She wrote: “1.5 billion logged in viewers visit YouTube every single month. That’s the equivalent of one in every five people around the world! And how much do those people watch? On average, our viewers spend over an hour a day watching YouTube on mobile devices alone.”
She also disclosed in the blog post that YouTube is working on making Virtual Reality more accessible and more affordable for viewers and creators.
