BuffrSpace, a new Nigerian startup, is kicking off its pre-launch this month. Best described as the Airbnb for workspaces, it aims to provide remote workers with on demand workspaces, the company is aiming to serve targeted users in Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya.
In a chat with Innovation Village, the co-founder of BuffrSpace, Olaoluwa Akinnusi, they have two goals in mind.
“The two main goals for us are – meeting the need for workspaces to work remotely by people, and the need for space owners who would like to monetize and make some extra money from their available spaces,” he said.
When asked whether the ecosystem is really ready for such a service, he answered in the affirmative.
“We are very positive about that, not only from our extensive market research done before venturing out but also from continuous market validations we are experiencing even before launch,” he told Innovation Village.
The on-demand platform is targeting freelancers, startup founders, consultants, work from home executives and mobile professionals to provide them with a diverse range of work-spaces at affordable prices.
“Since requests are on-demand, you can rent a space for as low as one hour and as long as a month or year,” says the founders. “For business owners and managers, BuffrSpace allows you to monetize underutilized resources and facilities — your surplus spaces like desks, cubicles, offices, or floors — bringing in some extra funds while simultaneously increasing your bottom line without any extra expenditure on your part, whatsoever.”
Akinnusi added that the platform offers an automation of the renting and booking process, facilitating a smooth experience and building an effective community of hosts and guests.
“We are launching in a couple days and we will reach out to give comprehensive details on all of these and what our offering will potentially provide to the market in Africa,” he concluded.
