According to reports, video calling on WhatsApp has been in the works for quite some time now and this isn’t just a rumour as it’s been confirmed by leaked images of an iPhone making a video call. Just recently, the video calling feature emerged on Android devices and this could be a sign the company could be getting closer to releasing the feature soon.
The beta version of WhatsApp for Android had the option for a video call, multiple beta testers saw the feature show up with the latest update to the app. Pressing the call button prompts them to choose either an audio or video call but the feature was not active for most users, and it was removed with a later update.
Guess the Video Call option wasn’t ready for the public, but it looks like it’s in its last stage before rolling out. You can enroll in the WhatsApp beta program if you want to experience this new feature.
