The 1000 finalists of the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP) converge for a 2-day bootcamp at the African Leader Development Centre (ALDC), Covenant University, Sango-Otta, Ogun State from Friday, 10th July 2015.
The finalists come from 51 countries in Africa. The five most represented countries are Nigeria (49%), Kenya (16%), Uganda (4%), Ghana (3.6%) and South Africa (3.2%).
The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP) is the flagship entrepreneurship programme of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, founded by the entrepreneur, respected investor and philanthropist Tony O. Elumelu. The vision of the programme is to establish the pre-eminent pan-African entrepreneurship programme and create 10,000 startups across Africa within the next 10 years that generate significant employment and wealth.
The finalists have already undergone a 12-week online training programme, which started in April 2015.
At the boot-camp, these entrepreneurs will receive additional training and further develop their business plans, which will lead to receiving $5,000 in seed capital to start or grow their various businesses. The reception, following a Q&A session, will provide entrepreneurs with an opportunity to network among themselves and with accomplished local and international business leaders and potential investors.
With predominately plenary style sessions, the entrepreneurs will participate in sessions including an open mic with Founder Tony O. Elumelu CON; understanding access to finance & alternative SME financing models; a motivational seminar on personal development and much more.
Through ice breaker events and networking cocktails during the Bootcamp, entrepreneurs will get to know each other, strengthen cross – continental connections and enrich each other’s businesses.
Start-ups receive their first round of non-returnable $5,000 seed capital investment at the end of the Boot-camp and Elumelu Entrepreneurship Forum.
From August to December, the start-ups will work with their mentors, the $5,000 seed capital, and all the online resources at their disposal to complete and solidify their business plans, in order to qualify for follow up funding from us – in form of a returnable $5,000 investment.
The Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme Bootcamp is the largest gathering of emerging entrepreneurs on the continent.
