Hiro Mashita is visiting Nigeria and would like to meet with startups

Angel Investor, Hiro Mashita, is visiting Lagos, Nigeria and would like to interact with startups and even score a startup $2500 while here.

Mr. Hiro Mashita is Founder and Director of m&s partners Pte. Ltd., incorporated in Singapore, providing advisory services for finance, IPO, M&A, operations, marketing, business development, and global business expansion. Mashita, former head of venture capital arm of Japanese corporation Hikari Tsushin Inc, has emerged an active early stage investor in India. His portfolio companies in the country include NDTV’s Gadgets 360° and Fifth Gear Auto, online peer-to-peer lending market place Faircent, Rajesh Sawhney’s Innerchef, Silver Push and hyperlocal on-demand delivery startup LazyLad.

This meetup is being organised by Oo Nwoye, the man behind TechCircle Nigeria.

    In the words of Oo,

Hiro met Paystack’s founder Shola in the Bay Area and Shola did the ecosystem thing and encouraged Hiro to check out Nigeria so he’ll see that there are more startups from where Paystack came.

Initially, the idea was to quietly visit a few startups during his brief 2 day visit then I thought:“although real gees move in silence, this will be a good excuse to drink beer”.

A few emails later Paystack agreed to sponsor the drinks and the folks at Cafe Neo said, “Yeah, you can use our Cr8 space“

That’s how the meetup came to be.

To make the meetup more interesting, Hiro graciously accepted to sponsor a little pitch competition that will score a startup $2500 that evening. Check out abokifx.com to translate that into Nigerian English ;).

The venue of the event is Cafe Neo – Cre8 Space – 6 Agoro Odiyan Street, Eti-Osa, Nigeria. And the time is Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (WAT)

According to Oo, Hiro and partner Taro would be ACTIVELY looking to invest in startups during this visit. If you would like to book a meeting, get in touch with Oo via his open DM @OoTheNigerian or his email address, ositanwoye@gmail. They are specifically looking at the following themes

    • Mobile First
    • FinTech
    • Energy
    • Content
    • On Demand Platforms

PS: You should be able to scale across Africa.
