The infamous Panama Papers database is scheduled to go on-line today at 6.00p.m. GMT in a searchable form at The Panama Papers · ICIJ. The massive database is expected to detail ties between some 368,000 people and some 300,000 offshore entities

Today’s data dump is just part of the picture, detailing the relationships between individuals, companies and offshore entities.

The Panama Papers is a global investigation into the sprawling, secretive industry of offshore that the world’s rich and powerful use to hide assets and skirt rules by setting up front companies in far-flung jurisdictions.

Based on a trove of more than 11 million leaked files, the investigation exposed a cast of characters who use offshore companies to facilitate bribery, arms deals, tax evasion, financial fraud and drug trafficking.

The files are said to have exposed many Nigerians as well as leading figures globally. The papers, taken from Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonseca’s servers, first leaked in early April.
