Mark Zuckerberg announced today that he shared his message of connecting people with Pope Francis at the Vatican City. He was accompanied with his wife Priscilla Chan.
He said they told the Pope how much they admired his message of mercy and tenderness, and how he’s found new ways to communicate with people of every faith around the world.
They also discussed the importance of connecting people, especially in parts of the world without internet access. They gave him a model of Aquila, the solar-powered aircraft that will beam internet connectivity to places that don’t have it and they shared their work with the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to help people around the world.
Early this year, Twitter CEO Kevin Systrom also visited the Pope where they spoke about the power of images to unite people across different cultures and languages. He claimed that it was by far one of the most memorable experiences of his life!”
