Sim Shagaya, Founder of Konga.com has announced that the online mall will be introducing Mercury, a new powerful hosted logistics management system next week. He stated this via a tweet today on his page.

He also said that Mercury will be free to Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) that wish to do logistics.

MERCURY by Konga will be usable regardless of if you are doing deliveries for Konga, other ecommerce company or a offline fulfilment.

He says that he was doing this to fulfil the need for a track and trace system absent in the industry. He said that Konga.com decided to extend the proprietary technology we had built for KExpress and make it available to every logistics company – large and small – that desires it.

However he notes that “There is no way KExpress can carry the burden of ecommerce alone. Already, there are over 30 logistics companies service the platform. Mercury will further broaden that field.”
