Nine months ago, Instagram announced it hit the 300 million users milestone. Today, the company announced it now has 400 million monthly active users, now that’s a significant growth and the company isn’t showing signs of slowing down.
The company claims users post more than 80 million photos a day and most of these posts are done by international users, with more than 75% of the app’s users living outside of the U.S.
“When Instagram launched nearly five years ago, 400 million seemed like a distant dream,” the company wrote in a statement. “Now, we continue to strive to improve Instagram — helping you experience the world through images and connect with others through shared passions.”
Instagram has doubled its user base in the span of 18 months from 200 million users back in March of 2014 and that’s an impressive figure. Guess the company has Facebook to thank for its rapid growth.
