YouTube has begun testing a new experimental feature called Timed Reactions in addition to its timed comments function, as compensation for the elimination of the dislike button. Viewers will be able to submit emoji-based reactions to a specific section of the video. It will allow people to express their emotions more freely or promote that particular segment of the film. Take a look at the information provided below.
YouTube Timed Reactions: An Experiment in Community Interaction
As previously stated, the Timed Reactions feature is largely an outgrowth of last year’s “Timed Comments” experiment, which allows users to navigate through timestamped comments to reach a specific point in a video. According to YouTube, the timed comments function has received great response, which led to the creation of the new Timed Reactions feature experiment.
You’ll be able to react to specific parts of the videos that support the feature, and you’ll be able to view other people’s reactions in the comments sections. A special “response panel” featuring anonymised user replies to specific parts of the videos will be available. You won’t be able to tell who has reacted to the videos this way. The new function will allow you to better judge video content and skip to the good parts of videos.
Users can presently choose from five emoji-based emotions (love, confetti, sun, sobbing, and shocking). In the future, YouTube says it may add or remove replies based on user feedback. It’s also exploring additional emoji versions, including the exclamation mark, question mark, and 100 emoji, among others.
It’s worth noting, though, that YouTube hasn’t announced which films will be included in the experiment. Because this is an experiment, only a limited number of users and channels will be allowed to use it.
As a result, if you want to test it out, we recommend keeping an eye on the YouTube comments sections of the videos you watch. Also, make sure your YouTube app on your smartphone is up to date.
