Apple Music has released its 500 most-streamed songs of the decade, with Wizkid earning the title of highest-charting African act on the list. This is thanks to his feature on Drake’s hit song “One Dance,” which is placed at Number 6 on the list. The track, from Drake’s 2016 album Views, includes guest vocals from Nigerian afrobeats star Wizkid and British singer Kyla.

Wizkid’s role went beyond simply featuring on the track. He helped shape its sound through vocals, writing, and production, which contributed significantly to the global appeal and crossover success of the song.

“One Dance” topped the charts in 15 countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom—where it also became the longest-running top 10 single of the 2010s—and the United States. It marked Drake’s first number-one hit as a lead artist in all these regions.

Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” takes the top spot as the most-streamed song in Apple Music history, with The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” and Drake’s “God’s Plan” coming in 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

The Top 10 list includes the following:

    1. Shape of You by Ed Sheeran
    2. “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd
    3. “God’s Plan” by Drake
    4. “Sunflower” by Swae Lee
    5. “Rockstar” by Posty featuring 21 Savage
    6. “One Dance” by Drake featuring Wizkid and Kyla
    7. “Sicko Mode” by Travis Scott
    8. “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran
    9. “No Guidance” by Chris Brown and
    10. “Bad Guy by Bllie Eilish

Wizkid has been busy in recent times. His single “Piece of My Heart,” featuring Brent Faiyaz and released from his Morayo album, won the Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Contemporary) award at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards—marking his sixth win at the event. He also collaborated with Ayra Starr on the April 2025 afrobeats single “Gimme Dat,” which charted in the top 10 on Nigeria’s TurnTable chart, the UK Afrobeats chart, and the US Billboard Afrobeats Songs chart
