TestCard, a medtech enterprise has launched a ‘Test and Treat’ service making use of its at-home UTI test kit in collaboration with Zava, a European digital healthcare provider.
TestCard turns the camera of a smartphone into a clinical-grade scanner which works with its postcard test kit to provide instant results and a treatment referral where indicated.
Zava’s telemedicine platform allows access to consultations, testing, and prescribed medications from UK-based GMC-registered GPs. Zava’s doctors have performed around 5 million consultations since 2011.
In collaboration with Zava, the test and treat service enables users to order a test from the platform Online Doctor providing consultation and prescriptions are delivered directly to the homes of the patients.
The TestCard app provides detailed analysis of the results of whether urinary tract infections have been detected and where it is found, refers patients back to Zava for clinical advice and support.
The test kit has two tests and the mobile application is free to download both on Android and iOS devices. The TestCard solution is accessible and affordable to aid the reduction of strain on the NHS to save time for both patients and healthcare practitioners.
