The finalists for TechCabal Battlefield have been announced. Out of the 92 applications and a fiercely competitive shortlist of twenty, the final seven have emerged.
The Battlefield is a platform where nigerian technology startups will have the chance to showcase their products, services and businesses. Initially the total cash prize up for grabs was $12,000. Thereafter a $10,000 contribution from iROKING increased the total cash prize to $22,000.
Bankole Oluwafemi, editor-in-chief of TechCabal, announced that the seven finalists are listed below:
- 500Shops, an e-commerce service platform that allows any business owner to setup a complete online store in minutes;
- Adugbo, a digital platform that enables the contextually relevant discovery and promotion of products/services offered by local merchants/small businesses;
- Callbase, a telephone system for modern distributed teams;
- CasaGrupo, an online real estate crowdfunding platform;
- Decoded, a music platform that aids in the discovery of African music with a focus on the lyrics;
- GoKool, an online shopping platform offering Nigerians genuine auto parts and electrical accessories; and

The seven startups will be moving on to the next stage which is the Battlefield Academy. At the Academy, each finalist will be paired with a mentor from the Battlefield Faculty who will help them think through their product, business and presentations. That Faculty is composed of people you already know — Tomi Davies of the Lagos Angel Network, Editi Effiong of Anakle, Femi Taiwo of INITS, Mark Essien of Hotels.ng and more.
Bankole also announced, as an important update, that The Battlefield finale will no longer be holding on the 19th at Terra Kulture, but on the 21st at Four Points, Lekki.
