The iDEA is a simple one, to help Nigerian entrepreneurs create successful businesses.

Founded in 2013, Information Technology Developers Entrepreneurship Accelerator  (iDEA) is a not-for-profit organization whose primary purpose is to accelerate the development of the software industry in Nigeria by nurturing and helping Nigerian software technology businesses.

iDEA provides essential support to entrepreneurs to build software skills, solutions and businesses critical to their success.

Entrepreneurs accepted into iDEA Centres receive support in the way of physical work space, shared facilities, training, mentoring and access to capital.

It will open its Lagos Centre on the 19th of April, and ironically it is close to the Co-Creation Hub based in the Lagos Innovation cluster in Yaba, Lagos.

iDEA would be launching with four developers sessions facilitated by Google, Blackberry, Microsoft and Nokia. 

The sessions are as follows:

1.  Google Developers Session (19th April)
How to build an Android App With HTML5 in one hour Handled by Femi Taiwo, the Manager of the Lagos Chapter of the Google Developer Group. This will also include a hands on session.

2. Blackberry Developers Session (19th April)
“Blackberry’s support for the Nigerian ICT Ecosystem ” By Dave Pryce, VP Government Relations

3. Microsoft Developers Session (20th April)
Microsoft Developer Session Windows 8 development – Akinwale Ariwodola

4. Nokia Developers Session (20th April)
Nokia’s support for Nigerian developers on their pathway to growth! – Teemu Kijarvi Windows Phone 8 Development
