Risevest CEO, Eke Urum, has agreed to step aside to allow for a 6-week investigation into abuse of power and sexual impropriety allegations brought against him.

Founded in 2019 by CEO Eke Urum, CTO Bosun Olanrewaju and Head of Product Tony Odiba, Risevest provides customers access to dollar-denominated investments in developed markets, managed by a world class team using smart algorithms to guide our decisions. Risevest also helps its customers become more financially literate.

According to a statement from the company, the independent investigation set up by Risevest investors include the following people:

    • Tomi Davies of TVC Labs as Chair
    • Odunoluwa Longe of TLP advisory as Legal Adviser and
    • Toun Tunde-Anjousof The People Practice as People and Culture Adviser

It is not quite clear the person or persons that brought up the allegations. However, a former head of marketing, Efe Uduigwomen, talked about how she was fired for not coming to work during the COVID period even though her contract was for a remote position.

The current head of operations, Tony Odiba, has been appointed as the interim CEO while Otasowie Evbuomwan will continue to lead the US operations.

The company said the findings from the investigation will be made known within two weeks of the conclusion of the exercise.

“Risevest as a company has zero tolerance for abuse, harassment and misconduct and is committed to establishing the truth of this matter while also reviewing policies to ensure a safer workplace,” the statement reads.

“Risevest operations and investment processes do not rely on any single individual and are completely unaffected aby any of these circumstances. Our team continues to manage all investments and operations as usual.”
